4-Month Checkup

We just got back from Megan's 4-month appointment. She did awesome. I was getting nervous for it because she woke up at 7:15 instead of her usual 8 or 8:30. Now I know 7:15 isn't anything to complain about except it would have been timed perfectly for her to have her usual nap right when we got back. By waking up an hour earlier her nap time was going to be right during the appointment. But, Megan was a champ. She woke up and ate, got dressed, played a little, and then we were off. (The appointment was at 9). She complained in the car, but fell asleep on the way there only to be woken up by me taking off her clothes and having her appointment. But she didn't seem to mind at all being woken up. She even started laughing at the pediatrician! I think she's ticklish and when he touched her thighs she would laugh. It was so adorable. Here are her stats:

Height: 25 in. (71%)
Weight: 15 lb 13 oz (79%)
Head: 42 cm (85%)

She's now more proportional! She's still a big healthy girl. They said she looked great and that I could start introducing solid foods anytime now. Eek. I'm not ready. It's so easy just feeding her breastmilk all the time. I'll think about doing that sometime in the next month. Maybe.

Unfortunately this check-up also meant more shots. I was much more nervous for this one than the last one because I actually remembered that it meant shots before the actual appointment, and I kept remembering her little face cringing when they gave her the shots last time. She cried so loud. But she did so awesome. She cried when they gave her the shots, but it wasn't harder than she would normally cry. When I picked her up she cried for a little bit more, but then calmed down and even managed a little smile for the nurse who gave her the shots. It's like she was saying, "It's okay. I'll be alright." She ate a little more when we got home and is now sleeping. We'll see how she sleeps tonight.
